Basset Fauve de Bretagne, a small and very lively dog, full of energy which makes him very fast, especially when compared with other dogs of similar size. This animal has a rather elongated skull, a black nose and a noticeable but not very abundant mustache. Very alert dark eyes, tail carried like a saber and tawny hair. The mantle of the Basset Fauve de Bretagne it can take on shades ranging from wheat-golden to brick, with some black hairs scattered on the back and ears, if it happens, and some small white spots on the chest which are tolerated by standards but not sought after.

Basset Fauve de Bretagne: character

Cuddly but lively, and definitely of character, this French dog who is very happy with children also because he loves to play, is always cheerful and it has no tendency to aggression or nervousness.

Taking into account that it is vital, it can be said that it results obedient enough, loves cleanliness and binds to the owner and the family remaining faithful and often in search of cuddles.

He is proud, so when he is educated and he sees that he is able to carry out his master's commands, he appears happy, as happy as when we take him to do long walks.

In the past they were used for hunting, they still are suitable for this purpose but it is easier for them to be chosen as companion dogs also for their sociable, affectionate and balanced character.

Over the years the breed has been crossed with others, with the "Bassetto Vendeano ", for example, but not only, but today the Basset Fauve de Bretagne is very similar to the original physically but also in character: brave, smart and tenacious, but also affectionate and cheerful in the family.

Basset Fauve de Bretagne: puppies

From an early age the puppies of Basset Fauve de Bretagne they must be fed in a healthy way so as not to risk obesity or bone and muscle problems. As adults I reach a height at the withers that it goes from 32 to 38 cm. From a character point of view, puppies are even more lively, but educable, then as they grow up they reach a good balance and can be kept indoors.

Descended from a now extinct dog, the Great Fawn of Brittany, our Basset Fauve has affordable prices and on average with other similar dogs. Of course, it is not easy to find farms in Italy that keep them, perhaps not always close to their residence. The cost of a healthy puppy and with a regular pedigree it can start from 700 euros.
